What is Audiolar?

Audiolar is a free collection of 18 online audio tools that run entirely in your web browser. You can trim a song, join clips, convert between WAV, M4A and MP3, open WhatsApp voice notes, boost volume or bass, fade a track in or out, reduce steady background noise and make speech clearer. No software install and no account are needed. The audio is decoded and processed on your own device with the Web Audio API, so the file is never uploaded to a server and nothing is stored once you close the tab. Results can be saved as WAV, or as MP3 at 128 to 320 kbps, with no watermark. The tools work in current versions of Chrome, Safari, Edge and Firefox on phones and computers, and the pages are available in English, German, French and Swedish.

Frequently asked questions

Is Audiolar really free?

Yes. All 18 tools are free to use. There is no account, no trial period and no watermark on the files you save. Because processing happens on your own device instead of a server, there is also no upload queue and no daily cap on how many files you can process. You only need a modern browser and a file to start.

Are my audio files uploaded to a server?

No. Processing runs inside your browser with the Web Audio API, so the file stays on your device and nothing is stored once you close the tab. The one exception is the optional noise server. It is off by default and only receives a file if you turn it on and point it at a machine that you run yourself. Every other tool never sends audio anywhere.

Which audio formats are supported?

Input can be MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, OPUS or FLAC, as long as your browser can decode it. Video files such as MP4 or MOV work when the browser can read their soundtrack. Output is saved as 16-bit WAV, or as MP3 at 128 to 320 kbps. Audiolar does not create M4A, OGG, FLAC or M4R files.

How do I convert a WhatsApp voice note to MP3?

Share the voice note from WhatsApp to your files app so that you have the .opus file. Open WhatsApp Voice to MP3, choose that file and press Convert. Your browser decodes the voice note and encodes an MP3 on your device, and the download starts straight away. Nothing is uploaded, so private messages stay private.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. Every tool works in a mobile browser on Android and iPhone, and no app install is needed. Open the page, pick a file from your phone and save the result. Audiolar does not create M4R ringtones for iPhone. Save an MP3 for Android, or a WAV that you can open in any editor.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no fixed upload limit, because files are not uploaded. The practical limit is the memory of your device, since the browser decodes the whole file into memory before editing it. A song of a few minutes is fine on a phone, while very long recordings, such as several hours, may be slow or fail on older devices.
