What is reverse audio?

Reverse audio plays a recording from its last moment to its first. This tool flips the waveform of a file in your browser, so the clip keeps its exact length and nothing is uploaded. It does not add reverb or change speed. Open any file your browser can decode, run the reverse, and save the result as a 16-bit WAV for full quality or as an MP3 at 192 kbps for a smaller file.

What does reversing audio do?

Reversing audio plays a recording backwards by flipping the order of its samples, so the end becomes the beginning. This tool does exactly that and nothing more. It has no effect settings besides the download format, it does not add reverb, and it does not change speed or pitch. The reversed file is the same length as the original. Open any file your browser can decode, press Reverse and the waveform flips. Then save a 16-bit WAV or an MP3. The work runs on your own device with the Web Audio API, so the file is not uploaded and no copy is kept. Reversed audio is often used for sound effects and creative edits. If you want to reverse only part of a clip, cut that part first with the Audio Cutter and reverse the result. It is free, with no account and no watermark.

How to use it

  1. Open a file Any format your browser can decode.
  2. Reverse it Press Reverse. The waveform flips.
  3. Save Choose WAV for a full-quality file, or MP3 when you need a smaller one. Nothing is uploaded.

A plain reverse

This does not add reverb or change speed. Pair it with Slowed + Reverb if you want that sound.

FAQ

Will speech be understandable?

No. Played backwards, speech is not meant to stay understandable, because the syllables are reversed in time. Reversing is mainly used for sound effects and creative edits. If you need a voice to stay clear, do not reverse it. The tool flips the samples exactly and does not try to preserve how the speech sounds.

Does it change the length?

No. The reversed file is exactly the same length as the original, because the samples are only flipped in order. The tool adds no reverb tail and changes neither speed nor pitch. If you want a longer or slower result, use Slowed + Reverb or Speed and Pitch on the reversed file afterward.

Can I reverse only part of a song?

Yes, in two steps. Cut the part you want with the Audio Cutter first and save it, then open that file here and reverse it. The reverse tool always flips a whole file and has no range handles of its own. If you need the reversed part back inside the full song, join the pieces with the Audio Joiner.
